I purchased this SSA for my mom for Mother’s Day. She’s 83 and the $4,000.00 hearing aids are not in her insurance or Social Security budget. She loved it. She no longer had to turn up the TV volume. She could hear us talking from across the room without having to repeat it. She loved her new freedom. When her grandkids visited her later that Day, she told them she was waiting for a phone call on her ear phone (i.e.Blue Tooth). STEALTH SECRET SOUND AMPLIFIER Everyone in the family applauded this purchase.

I bought this amplifier for my 89 year old mother as other types never seemed to work very long and she had a hard time changing batteries. As this amplifier had a charger like a cell phone, I decided to try it. WELL, mother just loves it. Likes the fact that it looks like a ‘bluetooth’ and not a hearing device. AND no batteries to change!
Several of her Church friends have now purchased this item too!
Thanks for a great product.
From a happy daughter in Oklahoma.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was apprehensive but ordered the Stealth anyway. Boy, am I glad I did. Now I can listen to the TV at the same volume as my family. And I’m actually hearing conversations instead of mumbling voices. I wish I’d have ordered this years ago. This is an amazing product. I’m totally, absolutely, unreservedly satisfied and pleased, but not nearly as much as my family.

I purchased the SSA for my father-in-law. He absolutely loves it. For him, the best part is, he can now go to church and actually hear the pastor. He was very frustrated with his lack of hearing, but didn’t want to start with hearing aids. It works great!

Really decent small audio amplifier.
I’ve been ‘hearing challenged’ most of my adult life. I’ve used ultra expensive hearing aids down to cheap crappy amplifiers.
While this is no hearing aid, it is clearly the BEST inexpensive amplifier I’ve found. Bonus points for being ‘cool’ as in looking like a bluetooth headset. DOUBLE BONUS POINTS for being rechargeable and including a charger. You just don’t find this in hearing products, especially in this price range.
The amplification is not LOUD, rather just enough to be helpful. It seems to have some kind of background noise filtering that I don’t oft find in this product segment. So the sound you get is cleaner somehow than anything I’ve found in this price range (less than $500).
Additional ‘not like anything else’ feature – a fully charged battery (rechargable) lasts a lot longer than most single-use HA batteries. And recharging is very fast, with LEDs to let you know when it is done charging.
Highly recommended

I’m 62 years old and have been playing loud rock and blues music since I was 13. You can just imagine what that has done to my hearing.
Like most people on the edge of “hard of hearing” (Oh, what a painfully old sounding diagnosis!) I recognize the increasing problem but have no desire to rush off and pay thousands for a prescription hearing aid. But then again fairness to friends and family who no doubt tire of hearing me say “what?” and then having to repeat themselves moved me to do something, and that something proved to be both effective and inexpensive: The Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier.
The SSSA works really well. So well in fact that I need only turn it up about a third of the way. Sound is crisp and unexpectedly natural. Voices are clear. There is no hum. In fact so good is the amplification – and so natural – that I several times have removed it from my ear to see if it is really working. It is. Oh yes, it is! Back in it immediately goes.
Price and effectiveness aside the SSSA has yet other advantages.
One it is rechargeable. Plug it in for a couple of hours and it is ready to go again. The instructions say four hours, but I have found that thus far the charging/ready light has always gone out in less than an hour. Note: This was after a couple of hours use, not when the unit’s battery was completely run down.
Two the SSSA appears to be a blutooth phone. I’m cool with that. True hearing aids seem to me to go with canes and phony choppers sitting in a glass of water. I’m not quite ready for that yet and thankfully need neither.
As you can tell I am very pleased with product. Indeed I could not be more so. Or, for that matter, more surprised by how well it works.
If your hearing is ‘on the edge’ as mine is the Stealth Secret Sound Amplifier is definitely worth giving a try.

It is everything you described, and MORE. I love the smallness of it, and the fact that it does not look like a hearing “aide”.I like it so much, I am going to order another one for my brother.

I’ve tried other devices designed to let you hear better and this is the best I’ve used yet.One trouble I had with it was the largest adaptor still wouldn’t stay in my ear if I moved around much.Solved that problem by slipping a small Oring over the adaptor shank and up under the umbrella and it stays good now. I also have a Seimans professional type hearing aid ($1000worth) and it is handier for away from the house use but listening to TV or normal conversation anound the house the Stealth has more amplification and works better. As far as the background noise complaints I’ve read about of course you are going to get that. It amplifies all sounds, not just the ones you want to hear. Even my Seimans does that. That noise is what normal hearing hears all the time but you get selective and ignore the sounds you aren’t iterested in.An excellent unit for the money.
Update Sept 2 2009. The rechargable battery now only lasts about 5 hours after a full
charge. I’m going to try one that uses replacable batteries and see how they do.

I have owned this amplifier now since 2/12/09 and I’ve had no problems with it at all. The sound is very adjustable and I really like the ‘rechargeable’ feature. It charges very fast and the sound is clear as long as the volume is not too high; there is distortion when it’s too high. My neighbor wears hearing aids and told me to put the unit on and turn on the water; listen for a volume (of water) that sounds ‘normal’ to you. That’s how I adjust this unit so as not to be too loud. I wear it mostly for tv as my hearing is not real bad, but voices get muffled on tv & radio a lot. Also, wear it when I’m in a room with many people talking (or noisy) as I cannot hear clearly what is being said. With this unit, I hear much clearer. I would definitely recommend you try this; however, I do realize that everyone’s hearing is unique to each person. Thus, what works for me may not work for others.

The reviews here were very helpful in selecting this product over other amplifiers and analog type hearing aids in this general price range.
I have been diagnosed with fairly severe hearing loss (high frequency rolloff of 60db, 20db overall) and have tinnitus so that like many others, this product was selected as a cheap alternative to the digital hearing aids.
The Stealth works for TV and quiet conversation with sufficient gain for my condition. The newly discovered “clinks” of flatware against a dish or the crispness of the sound of paper rustling attest to the amplifier quality. I also like the rechargeable battery which appears to last more than several hours of use (I plug it back in the charger when I take it off).
The negatives are that it doesn’t really stay put when moving around and it really isn’t comparable to a digital aid, but it serves my purposes admirably and is a steal at the price.
